Domain Name Pro Features in DetailIn Domain Name Pro we have included unique and essential features such as an automatic word thesaurus, popular alternative domain names, advanced word positioning, web site competition ratings, advanced pattern character search, search popularity ratings, Net SpeakT, and automatic Acronyms. Domain Name Pro also has the largest domain list available. For a comparison of the Mozzle Domain Name Pro with other domain name software see the domain name software comparison page. If you have an idea for a feature that is not currently included then please let us know. Additional features will be added in future versions if they will be of significant benefit to other users. Free Domain List UpdatesNumber of Domains: 539 global and country-code domains The major domains are shown here for your convenience: .com .org .net .biz .info .cc .st .us
.ws .uk.com .us.com .com.au .com.br Note: Only domains that have a publicly listed domain name database (whois) server have been added to the list. Most of the domains have been thoroughly checked and validated as working, however some of the domains, particularly those containing very few registered domain names, have not, due to the difficulties in knowing registered names (generally in a foreign language). If you find any search results that you believe to be incorrect then please contact us and we will amend the domains list. The domains that you want to check are selected from the domains list:
The current number of domains in your list, and the list version and date are displayed in the About Box, accessible on the Help menu:
When important new domains are released they will be added to the list (provided a publicly accessible domain name database server is available for them). If you would like a particular domain to be added to the list then please contact us. We will add it to the list if domain name status information is publicly available for the domain. Updates to the domains list will be made available for free for the life of the product. The built-in product news service will inform you when new versions are available. You can save and load your favorite lists of selected domains (e.g. Big 3 - .com, .org, and .net, or MyUK - .com, .co.uk, .org.uk, and .plc.uk). You can also quickly clear all selected domains by pressing shift-del or by selecting Clear from the popup menu. Free Product UpgradesUpdates to Domain Name Pro, including new features and fixes, will be made available for free for the life of the product. The built-in product news service will inform you when new versions are available. Popularity RatingsDomain Name Pro can calculate an indicative search engine popularity rating for each domain name generated. The popularity rating is shown in the results table next to the domain name.
The higher the popularity rating the more popular that terms in the domain name are searched in the major search engines. Domain Name Pro uses an extensive database of the top 500,000 search terms from a list containing almost 4 million terms. In the 21-day trial version of Domain Name Pro this database is limited to 100,000 terms. Web Site Competition Ratings

Domain Name Pro can dynamically retrieve the number of web sites that are "competing" for the words in the domain names generated. This gives an indication of how difficult it will be to achieve high search engine rankings for these words.
Domain Name Pro can also calculate a Domain Name Effectiveness IndexT (DNEIT) from the search popularity and competition rating. This is an overall indicator of the "value" of the domain names. The higher the search popularity and the lower the competition rating the higher the DNEI will be.
In both the simple search and advanced search the maximum number of thesaurus alternatives to use for each word can be set to None, or 1 to 10.
The thesaurus contains more than 110,000 alternatives to over 11,000 root words. For example, a simple search with the words "business help" and a selection of up to 3 alternate words (the default) will result in a search of 40 domain names including the following:
business
help
company
work
program
use
service
support
businesshelp
helpbusiness
businessuse
businessservice
businesssupport
companyhelp
workhelp
programhelp
...
supportprogram
Note that the more words that you enter and the higher the number of alternatives selected, the more domain name combinations that are checked. A simple search of 3 words with 10 alternatives produces more than 7,500 domain names! We recommend using an advanced search to isolate words that should have few or no alternatives checked from those that should have a lot of alternatives checked. As Domain Name Pro generates and checks domain names dynamically, as opposed to other products that pre-generate the list, there is no great risk in having a large number of combinations. You can limit the number of results or stop the search whenever you feel that enough domain names have been checked.

US, UK and Canadian trademark searches are available for domain names shown in the results table. Simply right-click the domain name and select the appropriate trademark search option from the popup menu.
Two searches are available:
Note: The results of these trademark searches are indicative only and should not be relied upon as the true trademark status. Consult a professional trademark search agency to perform a thorough search to confirm the trademark status.

Word groups are a part of the advanced search option. A word group is a list of words or domain name parts that should not be used together in the one domain name. For example, if you wanted to search for a domain name like "fresh food" or "tasty food" and you don't want domain names like "fresh tasty", which other products would check, simply place "fresh" and "tasty" in one word group and "food" in another.
Each word group has an individual setting for the valid positions of the words in the domain name, optional or mandatory word group, and the number of thesaurus alternatives for each word in the word group.
You can use a word group in the advanced search to load a list of add-on words to try in the domain name.
For more information and examples see the Advanced Search.
Typically, when searching for a domain name you don't want words randomly put together. Domain names consisting of a verb or adjective and a noun, or two nouns are usually better in a particular order, such as "freshfood" instead of "foodfresh" or "tomatoseed" instead of "seedtomato". With the advanced word positioning in Mozzle you can easily and instantly set the position of words.
Each word group in the advanced search can be set to one of the following specific positions within the domain name:
Start
Middle
End
Anywhere (default)
Start/Mid
Mid/End
Start/End
Note that a mandatory word group takes precedence over an optional word group in the same position.
For more information and examples see the Advanced Search.
You can specify particular word groups in the advanced search to be optional or mandatory. This is often a requirement when choosing a domain name based on a particular list of subject or root words. This eliminates unnecessary domain names, and in doing so speeds up the search process and makes the results easier to read. Word groups are set to optional by default.
For more information and examples see the Advanced Search.

Domain Name Pro contains an advanced pattern (character) search which includes nested optional and alternative parts and several wildcards. With it you can perform checks such as all 4 and 5 character domain names that end with "bit", or add a list of prefixes or suffixes to a domain name for example. The pattern can contain the following items:
X - Any valid character (a-z, 0-9, '-')
Y - Any alphanumeric character (a-z, 0-9, not '-')
A - Any alphabetical character (a-z)
C - Any consonant alphabetical character (b, c, d, f, ... z)
V - Any vowel alphabetical character (a, e, i, o ,u)
N - Any numeric character (0-9)
Optional parts enclosed in parentheses ( )
Alternative parts enclosed in square brackets [ ] and separated by a forward slash /
Example 1: The pattern search "CVCV" will generate the following domain name checks:
baba
babe
babi
babo
babu
baca
bace
...
zuzu
Example 2: The pattern search "([e/i])[book/mag/zine](s)" will generate the following domain names checks:
book
mag
zine
ebook
emag
ezine
ibook
imag
izine
books
mags
zines
ebooks
emags
...
izines
Note that a large number of domain name combinations can easily be generated when using the wildcard characters. Domain Name Pro will warn you if the potential number of combinations is high and give you the option to proceed. As Domain Name Pro generates and checks domain names dynamically, as opposed to other products that pre-generate the list, there is no great risk in having a large number of combinations. You can limit the number of results or stop the search whenever you feel that enough domain names have been checked.
Note that all two and three character domain names in the .com domain are currently registered, as they are considered extremely valuable.
For more information and examples see the Pattern Search.
Net SpeakT is an optional feature that substitutes certain character sequences with similar sounding alternatives, to create words commonly used in Internet forums such as e-mail and discussion boards. Dozens of alternatives are included. Some typical Net SpeakT alternatives are shown in the following list:
| one | 1 |
| to, too, two | 2 |
| eight | 8 |
| x | ks |
| cs | x |
| cc | x, ss, or k |
| qu | kw, or k |
| c | k |
| s | z |
Some examples of alternative domain names using Net SpeakT are as follows:
| for kids | 4kidz |
| quick pick | kwikpik |
| its too late | itz2l8 |
| baroque music | barokmusik |
| card tricks | kardtrix |
| accident | axident |
| accommodate | akommod8 |
Net SpeakT is disabled by default.
The acronyms option automatically generates and searches acronyms based on the first character of the words in the generated domain names. Each acronym is searched only once.
For example, the acronym "lug" will be automatically searched for the domain name "linux users group".

Domain Name Pro examines the expiry date of all registered domain names that it searches (where available). If the expiry date is within the number of days in the future or past that you set (e.g. 14 or 30) then it will display the expiry date or number of days until the expiry date instead of the regular "registered" status.
By displaying the expiry date you to easily identify domain names that have expired or are about to expire. You can sort the domain name results by availability by clicking the domain column heading. The domain names will be ordered by expiry date.

You can configure the expiry date feature via the Search page of the Options dialog.
One a search is complete you can filter the results to display only those results that you are interested in.

The simple search allows you to find domain names in a quick 1, 2, 3 process. Simply select the domain(s), enter some words or the full domain name, and click Search! Unlike other products, the additional step of pre-generating the domain names is not required!
Thesaurus alternatives can be used with the simple search. The simple search will use all words entered and their alternatives (but will not use two alternatives for the same word at the same time) starting with one word domain names, then all two word combinations, all three word combinations, and so on until the configured word limit is reached.
For more information and examples see the Simple Search.

The detail search displays the full domain name information for the given domain names or URL's. The information displayed typically includes:
![]() (click to enlarge) |
This provides quick access to full domain name information.
This option is available from the popup menu for a selected domain name and domain in the search results table. When selected, the full domain name information obtained from the search is displayed in place of the results table. To return to the results table select "Display Results" from the popup menu.
When the domain names checked by the simple or advanced search consist of multiple words, you can specify how hyphens are used to join the words. Hyphens can be set to always, never, or optional (check with and without hyphens).
When set to optional, a simple search for "direct marketing" would check the domain names:
directmarketing
direct-marketing
marketingdirect
marketing-direct
and so on...
The default hyphen setting is "Never Use Hyphens".
The results of a search can be exported (saved) as a formatted text file, as a CSV (comma separated) file for loading into a spreadsheet or database, or as a HTML file. You can view examples of these files for the results of an advanced search for the domain name "fresh food", and demonstrating several of the Mozzle search options.

The search speed is dependent on a number of factors such as which domain(s) you are searching and your geographical location to the domain name servers, however the most important factor is the bandwidth (speed) of your connection to the Internet.
On a 56Kbps modem connection you can achieve search speeds of up to 20 domain name checks per second. Domain Name Pro has the potential to search several times more than this with faster Internet connections. Using a multithreaded search engine, each check is independent of the others, therefore many checks can be performed simultaneously.
Set the search performance according to your Internet connection speed. If you are unsure of this then read your modem manual, ask your Internet Service Provider, or ask your companies network administrator. If you are sharing the Internet connection with others then please be mindful of this and set the performance to a lower setting. You should also be mindful of the fact that searches place a high load on the domain name servers, and in order to facilitate a good service to all users you should not exceed the recommended settings. It is better to search multiple domains at the same time, as this will help to spread the load.
Domain Name Pro queries dedicated domain name servers for many of the domains in the domains list (currently 46 servers), unlike other products that query just a few common domain name servers that redirect the queries to the appropriate server, therefore queries from Domain Name Pro are faster.
You can also enter a custom search performance. This value determines the number of simultaneous domain name checks that take place. Due to the additional workload that higher settings have on the Windows operating system and on the domain name servers, this value has been limited to a maximum of 60.

Domain Name Pro includes Headlines Direct, a freeware application (with source code) developed by us, which incorporates automatic product news into a program. By default Domain Name Pro will check for updates every 7 days when started.
Automatic checking can be disabled, and the automatic check interval can be configured from the options dialog. In any event the news can be manually checked from the Help menu.
The news typically includes the following information:
The domain name search results of Domain Name Pro are presented in a table in an easy-to-read format. Each domain name checked is listed once only on a separate row, and each domain checked is listed in its own column. This makes it very easy to read the domain names checked, to look for a particular name available in any domain, or to look for any name available in a particular domain.
Domain name results are shown as Available!, Registered, exp: YYYY-MM-DD (expired or expiring), Reserved, or Unknown.
The results table supports sorting, exporting, and printing, browsing to registered domains, and registering available domains.

Number of Words
You can limit the number of words to use in domain names. This is particularly relevant when many words are entered for searching. In many cases long domain names are undesirable.
The default limit is 5.
Domain Name Length
Just as important as the number of words in the domain name is the overall length of the domain name. You can limit the length to a specified number of characters (not including the domain suffix itself).
The default limit is 60.
Number of Results
Mozzle checks the closest matching domain names first. You will typically only need to look at the top of the results list to find a good available domain name. Some searches, particularly when using many thesaurus alternatives or pattern wildcards, will generate a lot of domain names to check, therefore you can conveniently limit the overall number of domain names checked per domain. For example, setting the maximum number of results to 40 will check the first 40 domain names in each of the domains selected.
The default limit is 500. To search all domain names simply check the All results option. A maximum limit of 20,000 is imposed.

Domain Name Pro supports loading and saving of text file word lists. A list of words that you enter for searching can be saved and loaded again later, either through the File menu or the popup menu for the search term.
You can load other word lists that you have created. This allows you to keep lists of good product or service names or add-on words that you have developed and generate domain name combinations using them as add-on words. 12 lists of common words are provided with Domain Name Pro and 3 are provided in Domain Name Std to get you started.
Word lists saved from the advanced search also save the position, optional/mandatory, and number of thesaurus alternatives settings for the words in that word group. These settings are restored when the wordlist is loaded. These settings are ignored when the wordlist is loaded into the simple search.
Word lists loaded are limited to the first 20,000 lines. Any invalid characters in the loaded word lists will be ignored.
Additionally, patterns entered in the pattern search can also be saved and loaded. A pattern loaded into the pattern search only retrieves the first line in the text file.
The closest matching domain names are checked first. The simplest domain names using the exact search terms entered are checked first, then the search engine progressively generates more complex domain names by adding additional optional parts and thesaurus alternatives.
The simple and advanced searches generate domain names using the following priority order:
The pattern search generates domain names using the following priority order:
You can print the domain name search results table for reference.
The page setup option allows you to set many aspects of printing, such as the page title, margins, page orientation, borders, date-time and page numbering, scaling, and much more. Print settings can be saved to a file and loaded again later.
You can view the report before printing by using the print preview feature.
